Red and White .....

..... in our family that can only mean one thing ---- Liverpool F.C. !!!

It's my youngest nephews birthday on Thursday and I wanted to do something a bit different for his card. This is what I've come up with :o)

I used Inkscape to join the letters to the rectangles and then used my Quickutz Silhouette to cut them out. To make the card a bit sturdier, I cut out 2 sets of images for each letter - 1 normal and 1 mirrored. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out.

More squares

Here's the other 2 cards that I made for the "squares" competition.

Build A Flower

This card is really different from my normal style. I made it for a competition that was to use Squares - it came 3rd :) I wanted to make one that didn't use any cute stamps. Although, I did manage to use a couple of the Hero Arts ribbon stamps. I also love the brown/pink heart paper - I'm down to my last half a 12x12 sheet - better get some more LOL

It's actually for my mum to give to her sister and they both loved it.

I used Beate's weekend sketch for the layout

Good Friend

It was my very good friend Kerrie's birthday on Saturday and here's the little book that I made for her :o)

School Days

Yippeee I've done another couple of pages for my sister's 40th scrapbook. Thankfully, this weeks challenge over on UKScrappers gave me another kick up the bum and I came up with the 1st page which then kind of led to the 2nd one.

Remind me not to tell my sister, when I give her the scrapbook next January, that her school pictures were on my blog.

What's next???

Let's hope it's gorgeous hot sunshine LOL

After the weird weather yesterday, I guess that it's no surprise that we woke up to snow this morning. It was coming down really thickly about 9ish this morning but thankfully it stopped, hung around for a few hours and is now starting to thaw.

I really never thought I'd be taking snowy photos at Easter :o)

Golden wedding

Here are the 2 cards that I've made for my aunt and uncle's Golden Wedding Anniversary next week.

This one is from me

and this one's from my mum and dad.

I think I used Mojo Monday Sketch #27 for this one. The papers are Pebbles Inc and they're gorgeous.

I've now opened up a can of worms by asking a question to my mum and one of her sister's --- when is their youngest brother's ruby wedding anniversary??? Just hope it isn't this year otherwise I'll be having a mass panic this weekend to get a different card done as his anniversary is one of the ones next week --- eek!

Happy Easter

Well, it might be Easter but it feels like Winter. These were the views out of my windows about 10 minutes ago.

This morning, we've had snow, sleet, hail, rain, wind and now we're back to sun. Had to rescue my recycling bins twice. Roll on Spring LOL

Hope everyone has a great Easter :o)

Wedding Anniversaries

My poor nan must have struggled at the end of March as 3 of her children have wedding anniversaries on 27th, 28th and 29th of March.

Thankfully, mum gave me the okay to make 2 cards the same LOL So I've made this one twice for mum to give to her 2 brothers.

Now got to get my thinking cap on as the last one of the trio is my Auntie Daph's golden wedding anniversary. Need to make 2 cards for that one. Eeeeek watch this space !!!

Lots of pink

Is there a better colour ??? :o)

Both of these cards are for my cousin. I know I'm biased but she really is the best.

She became a proud nanny on Boxing Day when her son's girlfriend had a little girl. She already has 2 grandsons (one of them is a regular on the Paul O'Grady show) but she now can buy loads of pink for Nicole.

I used Beate's Weekend Sketch #35 for this one.

This is my first Sugar Nellie card - isn't she cute!!! I thought I'd better make a card with her as I've ordered some of the lovely new ones from Funky Kits. Can't wait to get home from work as they might be waiting for me.

3 bundles of energy

This card is for my mum and dad to give to their neighbour.

Val has got 2 cocker spaniels (Holly and Fitz) and often looks after her daughter's Cocker Spaniel (Ella). Ella and Fitz are sister and brother and Holly, although not related, is like the auntie. You can sometimes catch her looking at the 2 "youngsters" and I'm sure she's rolling her eyes and thinking "the youth of today" :o)

Holly might be older but she's got as much energy as the other 2. If they are out for a walk and my parents front door is open, Holly will drag poor Val down the path to go and see my mum and get a biscuit. She treats their house just like her own LOL

Anyway, this stamp was just right for Val's card.

Bug Post

I love this little Penny Black stamp. The little hedgie is soooo cute.

It has been ages since I stamped a background but this flower stamp (I think it's an Autumn leaves one) seemed to be perfect for it.

Out of the Cup

Well the mighty Spurs got knocked out of the UEFA cup last night :o(

Despite having a sore throat, I still managed to yell my head off at the telly LOL We went to White Hart Lane last week to see the home leg, so I tried to make it feel like we were there again - apologies to my family - I think they may still have a headache - ooops!

On a happier note, going out of the cup 6-5 on penalties - which on a side note are always funny when someone else is having to go through the agony!!! It was horrible last night. Although my cousin did make me laugh when he sent me a text message "don't be sad cousin, at least you won't have to build a trophy cabinet now" - the cheeky sod ;o)

Sorry, where was I - oh yep - as we are now of the cup, it means that I definitely can go to Ally Pally on Sunday 13th April. If we'd got through then the next round matches are on 3/10th April so the Boro match, that we have tickets for on the Saturday, would have been moved to the Sunday so I'd have been forced to choose football over craft shopping/meeting friends!!! It would have been a very hard choice but made slightly easier as I've already paid the £34 for my Spurs ticket.

So yep it is kind of good news and OMG I'm really looking forward to that weekend - I'll be shattered, lost my voice and penniless by Sunday evening LOL

Blooming Wind

When will it ever stop???

I know there are a lot of people who are worse off than me but the "will they or won't they blow down" saga with my fences is getting annoying. I was up again in the early hours of this morning to --- just check. Although, gawd knows what I'd do at 3 in the morning, if they did come down LOL I think my poor dad is expecting a phone call in the middle of the night :o)

Hopefully, the forecasters are right and it will start to calm down this afternoon. Roll on Spring!!!

Well, that's my moan for this week --- sorry!!!!! :o)

Loads of Bunnies

LOL I made 13 of these Easter bunny cards for my mum. At one point, it looked like the stamped images were breeding ---- like rabbits :o)

Cupcake Mouse

I made this card for my cousin's youngest daughter who was 10 last Sunday (Happy Belated Birthday Sophie xxx).

I really enjoyed making it especially adding the bling on the cupcake :o)

Feeding Time

Forgot to show the page that I did for last weeks challenge over on UKScrappers. The challenge was to to have a watery theme, use glitter (very easy for me to do !!!), use purple and ribbons. Really enjoyed doing this page.

I used a Pencil Lines sketch for inspiration.

Exhausted

Had a brilliant day out yesterday - went to Stamperama. Well, it's held in my local leisure centre so it would be rude not to go LOL Met up with a few forum buddies - Claire, Kerrie and my UKScrappers teamie Gemma, who was working very hard on the Stampin Up stand ;o) - I got a catalogue and have started a wish list :o)

I did buy a few other little bits. Before I show piccies, I just have to say that I got loads of bargains. Some of the Penny Black stamps were reduced from £7.95 to £2.95 or even £1.95. Very very happy with me bargains LOL

Also got the Stampin Up Stamp-a-ma-jig that Kerrie ordered for me and it's brilliant. Although, I was shattered last night, I had a little play and OMG what did I ever do without it. Can already see that being my best buy for this year LOL
