60th birthday

Here are the cards that I made for my aunts 60th birthday (the hedgie one was from me & the teddy one from mum and dad). I would of shown these earlier but my fab friend set up a competition to make female cards but we weren't allowed to use any pink!!! It really challenged me especially as I struggled to find any paper in my stash that wasn't pink LOL The thing I'm really really pleased about is that the hedgie one came 3rd :o)

Strictly Come Dancing

As promised, here are some piccies of the show. From the warm up guy right the way through to the end ---- it was brilliant. The judges are hilarious and really camp it up LOL Kate Thornton was doing the Bruce/Tess bit and she was really good as well. There were no real celebs there who were awful - well apart from Chris Parker but he tries his best !!! They all seemed to love it that they could say that they've "played Wembley"

We've always loved watching it on the telly but to see it live was incredible, especially seeing Flavia and Vincent doing the Argentine tango ---- a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!! It also did make my mum's day when Matt Di Angelo won !!!

Hectic weekend

I really don't know where the time went. I had Friday afternoon off work and then drove down to Eastbourne. It was my aunt's 60th birthday so we all went out for a meal. There were 17 of us but it was a really good laugh. If you're ever in the Eastbourne area, I can thoroughly recommend The Yew Tree Inn at Arlington - thumbs up from my family anyway.

We stayed over at my cousin's house Friday night. Went to see her new baby granddaughter on Saturday morning - had loads of cuddles ;o) Popped in to see another aunt and uncle for a quick cup of tea and then drove home. Did manage to get to the The Glitter Pot on the way home - well I was driving!

Yesterday didn't calm down - card making session in the morning, watching the footie in the afternoon :o( and then went to see Strictly Come Dancing Tour at Wembley Arena. It was brilliant. Food and drinks in the arena were well over priced - £5 for a really small tub of ice-cream. Will show piccies (if they're okay) when I get them off my camera.

Feel exhausted this morning ----- back to work :o(

I love this stamp ......

.... as it's so blooming useful for mens cards LOL

This one is for my uncle from my mum and dad. The papers are Making Memories (I think!!!)

Had a mad card making session yesterday morning. Too many cards to make in so little time. Need to make my card for him tonight :o)

On our way to Wembley

Yet another of a day which I can't let pass without having a teeny weeny gloat ;o). Anyone who knows me will probably guess what I'm about to say --------

-- the ever so mighty Tottenham Hotspurs have just beaten/thrashed "Arse"nal by 5 goals (yep we scored 5) to 1 -----

So with an aggregate score of 6-2, we've booked our place in the League Cup final at Wemberley!!!!!!! Being back at the home of football is great enough but to do it against our North London rivals is a huge huge bonus.

Will not be able to wipe the smile off my face for at least the next few weeks. I will now try and calm down :o)

Finally finished

Well, that's it all done. My sister asked me if I'd make a mini book, for her nephews 18th birthday, in October last year. His birthday is at the end of January so I had a bit of time to spare. I must be improving as I finished my dad's mini book with a day to spare LOL.

I am really pleased with how it's turned out though. Initially, I had a panic about what I was going to do but then it all kind of fell into place. The hardest page was the one about Liverpool FC (ugh yuck!) :o)

Sisters other card

This one is from my mum and dad. In reality it's pinker, greener and bigger ;o) Oh well, it is a scan and I no longer have the card (it was her birthday yesterday) so it's probably as good as it's going to get. It will just teach me to finish the card in time so that I can take a photo in daylight.

It's been made using all my favourite craft companies - Penny Black (the new Spring 2008 stamps are gorgeous!) and Heidi Swapp for the stamps. The flower is a Prima Sprite -which I just love. I used my Cuttlebug Harmony alpha for "Daughter" and I've even managed to have a bit of Doodlebug on it with the Sugar Coated white brad in the centre of the flower. The funny thing is that I can't remember where I got the paper from !!!

Happy Birthday Diane

It really doesn't feel like a year since I made my sisters birthday card last year. Anyway, here we are again (well next Sunday to be exact) and 1 year closer to the big 4-0 hey sis!!!!

When we were younger, we used to work out what year we'd be certain ages. 2009 seemed like such a long way off. It doesn't seem possible that it's next year. At least when I turn 40, the whole country is going to be celebrating with me ----- the 2012 Olympics start exactly 3 days before my 40th LOL

I love this stamp from Stampendous. I showed my mum and dad this card and they thought it was very apt as apparently, my sister and I were monkeys when we were little ----- where's an innocent look smilie when you need it ;o)

I used a sketch from Mojo Monday It's a great site that I've just found. Gave my mojo the kick up the bum that it needed.

Help, I'm addicted .....

... to Penny Black stamps.

I bought a couple of the new Spring 2008 ones so thought I'd update my photos of them. Big mistake as it really does highlight how many I've got, especially the hedgies. Oh well, now I've declared my addiction, I'd better show the photos LOL

Neighbours

My parents next door neighbour is a lovely lady. She still calls me "the little girl next door", even though I now tower over her and I moved out of my parents house nearly 8 years ago LOL

It's her 78th birthday tomorrow so I've made these 2 cards. The Tilda one is from me and the Papernation rambler is from my mum and dad. It was the first time that I've used my new Spellbinders Nestabilties dies and they're fab. The embossing is so effective.

First Post of 2008

Happy New Year

I know it's a bit late but I'm still trying to recover from the shock of the alarm going off yesterday at the horrible time of 6am LOL. Even worse was when it had the nerve to do it again this morning ;o)

Where oh where did the Christmas and New Year break go??? Had sooooooo much planned - tidy my spare/craft room, do some scrapbooking, do my cards for a swap that I'm organising - and did I do any of it ------- No!!!

Oh well, I hope everyone has a great 2008 :o)
