Competition cards

Here are the 3 cards that I entered into a competition on a crafty forum. The theme was "anything goes" which was a great relief as I really had had enough of Christmas LOL

And this card came joint 3rd - yippee!
I was going to say that I was shocked that I hadn't used any Stampin Up products on any of the cards but ...... I've just realised that the card stock that I used for matting/layering and the ribbon were --- Stampin Up LOL

Cards for men

Is it just me or does anyone else think men are a pain in the bum to make cards for??? That's why I bought the Stampin Up Loads of Love stamp set and I've already used it ----- loads LOL

These 2 cards were for my uncle who's birthday it is today. The first one is from me and the 2nd one is from mum and dad. Mum chose the Penny Black stamp that she wanted on her brother's card and she ended picking one that I hadn't used for ages!!!

Happy Anniversary

The end of the March is a busy time of year for family cards. 3 of my aunts/uncles celebrate their wedding anniversaries within 2 days of each other so cards are required ---- by mum :)

Just realised that I've used 3 of my favourite craft companies on these cards - Stampin Up, Penny Black and Doodlebug.

Another pink card

I made this card for a fab friend who - can you guess - is a fellow pink lover LOL

The image is from the Stampin Up set - Fun and Fast Notes. The image (and ribbon) has been coloured using Copics. The papers are Doodlebug.

Another Stampin' Up set that I love :)

My sister turned 40 :)

Well the big event of this year has happened - me sister finally turned 40. She's been going on about it for years and she did have the big party that she wanted.

Her card was a bit rushed as I was trying to finish her scrapbook. I'll post the final pages of it on here when I've worked out which ones I've shown already :o) She loved it and couldn't believe that I (and all the family) had kept it a secret from her for about 18 months. She's shown it to anyone that goes to the house so I think it was a hit LOL

Happy Birthday text is Doodlebug stickers covered in yummy pink flock.
Papers are Bazzill dots and Pebbles
Stamped image is from the Stampin' Up set: Crazy for Cupcakes

It's a very touchy feely card what with the flock and I've put glitter all over the topping on the cup cake :o)

Family Christmas cards

I've finally finished my Christmas cards for this year - yippeee!!!

The last ones made are for immediate family - mum/dad, sister/BIL, 2 nephews and my niece. I really am going to do these first next year as I'm all Christmassed out by the time I get round to doing them.

Now I just need to finish buying and wrapping the presents and I'll be all ready :o)

Christmas (with hands and feet)

Weird title for a post but that was the theme for a competition. Well the main theme was Christmas but we got extra "points" depending on how many hands and feet were on the card.
This one came 2nd :o)

I'd already made these 2 cards so that was handy. This is for the guys at work so I've made quite a few of them.

And I made this one for my mum to send to her close family and friends. Had to make 12 of them !!! but this little owl is soooo cute and easy to colour.

Almost everything on these cards is Doodlebug papers and Penny Black stamps but the sentiments are Stampin Up, Stamps Away and one from a clear set from Stamp Addicts

My parents got married on 9th November 1963 and my brother-in-law was born on 11th November 1963. It means that, despite BIL saying that he's younger than he is, we always can remember how old he is LOL What it also means is that I have 2 family cards to make so here they are.

First up is mum and dad's anniversary card. I used all Stampin' Up goodies on it. The stamps are one of my new sets and they're gorgeous.

Next is BIL's card and he likes a pint so this Stamps Away stamp was perfect. The papers are Doodlebug.

Snow in October

That's not supposed to happen is it??? Well I didn't think it was as I wouldn't have booked my boiler replacement for this week if I'd known that it was possible. Thought I was pretty safe getting it done before the end of October but oh well, you live and learn LOL

I didn't have any central heating or hot water on Tuesday night - when 2 inches of snow decided to land on us! Thankfully, my house wasn't too cold as I had a little portable heater that is normally in the conservatory.

Anyway, enough of my snow story. My house is in a right state so I'm not going to be able to make any cards for a while. Soooo here are some that I made for a forum competition. The theme was snowmen - which I'm addicted to LOL

Busy busy busy

After working through most of this weeks lunch breaks, I'm putting my foot down (ouch that hurt!) and having some "me" time today. So the plan is to do a quick update on here and then settle down for an uninterrupted half hour with the new fab Stampin Up catalogue :o)

Right here goes. I realised last night that I hadn't shown a piccie of the card that I made for my mum and dad to give to my niece. The request "from the birthday girl" was that I had to base it on the card that I received from Kerrie. She loved it :o)
The cupcake stamp is Imaginisce and the papers are a combination of Pebbles and a bit of Doodlebug.
The look of the card isn't the only thing that Kerrie had influence over - the other is the yummy bling. I happened to mention to her that I was probably going to get a Bejeweller - before I knew it, she'd sent me the link for one that was not only cheaper than anywhere else but was also PINK !!!!! Thank you Kerrie (((hugs)))

First Acetate Book

It doesn't seem possible that it's been a year since I made my first mini book using my Bind It All. Amy (my niece) still raves about that book :o)

Well the request this year was for something "different" but I had to use the piccie that I took on our holiday in Greece. So here it is ---- my first ever Acetate book.

I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. I bought the acetate from Hobbycraft before I even knew that I was going to make her a book. Hmmm I wonder what I bought it for ??? LOL

Anyway, the papers, ribbons and cupcake stamp are Stampin' Up. I've used bits of Doodlebug as well.

Her birthday's tomorrow so fingers crossed, she will like it :o)

A Mags card

Anyone who knows Mags will know that she's a very special lady :o) Sooooo I wanted to make her a special card for her birthday.

After gaining inside information ;o) that she'd liked the "card" that I'd made for Sam and was loving turquoise and brown at the mo - this card kind of created itself.

It was nice to do a girlie version of Sam's book. On that one, I had to add football references but on Mags' I could use flowers and glitter - yippeee! LOL

The stamps are Imaginisce and Stampin' Up.

Yummy Elzybells

I've always loved Elzybells stamps but found that they were a little bit on the large side for cards. Well, that's all changed as they now do smaller stamps that are perfect for cards.

You can also get the stamps unmounted so they're very easy to store ;o)

Pink Girl

I loved making this card for my cousin's daughter. She'll be 10 at the end of the month and loves pink !!!
.
Pink and brown - another fave colour combo

Silver Wedding Anniversary

It's really busy at work again so I've had to make a point of sitting down and making a card.

I made this one for a special lady and her fab OH.

My yummy new Stampin Up goodies with another one of my fave colour combo's - aqua and brown.

Cute and Cuddly

I made these cards for a competition. The theme was Cute and Cuddly with ribbon. Now as regular readers of my blog will know - I love Penny Blacks so yep I do cute and cuddly LOL

One of my faves

I only bought this Whipper Snapper stamp at Ally Pally in April because my mum thought it was cute but I'm really glad as I did as it's come in really handy.

I think the sketch is from 2Sketches4U but I'm not 100% certain as Kerrie found it LOL

The "COUSIN" has been done using some Queen&Co brads that I've had for ages. Suppose I should own up to forgetting that I had them !!!

BTW, Kerrie has been blogging for a year now and is offering up some blog candy. Knowing Kerrie it's bound to be yummy so pop over to her blog and post a comment and you might win :o)

Race 4 Life

Here is the page that I did for this weeks challenge on UKScrappers.

The requirements were to scrap an achievement, 4 of something, journalling in a circle and stitching. I cheated a bit on the stitching as I used rub ons ;o)

The piccie is of my mum, sister, niece and moi when we completed the Race for Life last year. I can't believe that it will be a year next month since we completed it. Looking at this piccie, my sister has lost so much weight - even her youngest son noticed when he saw this page yesterday.

I love the new Doodlebug papers especially the pink ones LOL

Same but different!

Same stamp - my new gorgeous Imaginisce Chick
Same message stamp – Penny Black
Same papers - Pebbles
Same circles - Nestabilities
Same brads - well kind of LOL The top ones are the new yummy Doodlebug velvet covered brads and the bottom one is a Doodlebug mind brad.

The only difference is the layout. Both layouts are from the fab sketch site Mojo Monday
