Competition cards

It's been a while since I did a crafty post :o)

Here's 3 cards that I made for a competition. The theme was pink and you got extra points if you used a brad, peel off and vellum.

I couldn't find any vellum (probably gave it to my cousin's daughter)

I've been tagged

Right, time to catch up. My very good friend Kerrie tagged me and I've just remember that I haven't done it yet - oops LOL

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? And why?
Oh gawd, the first question is hard. I'd have to say Kate Winslet as she's proud to be British (like me) and she seems to have a really nice personality.

2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?

Most favourite - can I only pick one??? Okay if I really have to, I'll pick Peter Kay as he'll always be able to make me laugh no matter what happens.

Least favourite - John Mcruirck (sp?) - he's the horse racing bloke and he really really winds me up. I'd be tempted to throttle him by the end of day one.

3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
Cuttlebug, Brushable pens and Silhouette

4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?
A time machine as I'd love more hours in the day. There just don't seem to be enough time to get anything done that I want to at the moment.

5. What are the last three books that you read?
Jason Donovan's autobiography
I can't remember any other books that I've read recently

6. QVC or Create & Craft?
QVC, although I haven't bought anything from ages as the P&P is far too high.

7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?
DCWV

8. What is your claim to fame?
I haven't really got a proper claim to fame except that I was the first female electronics apprentice at my work. That was a few years ago ;o) and there hasn't been another one since - so either I was soooo good that no one could match me or, more realistic, I was really bad and they couldn't stand the thought of getting someone else like me LOL

The 5 people I tag now are:
Becs
Gemma
Nic
Jenny
Lisa

What a week!!!

Phew, I'm glad that the week is now over. It's been really hectic and I've done absolutely no crafting whatsoever.

Hopefully, that will change in the next few days but first I've got another busy couple of days.

Another big footie match for nephew today and then mum's going to hospital tomorrow to hopefully get an injection in her gum to relieve her neuralgia - the poor devil was in agony most of yesterday :o(

It's also my nephew's 19th birthday tomorrow - we've got his cake LOL

Roll on Tuesday when I might be able to try and make a card or scrapbook page - hope I remember how !!!

What a doughnut!

My nephew came shopping with me yesterday. For his lunch, back at my house, he wanted French stick bread with jam, yogurt and then one of those yummy doughuts that they smell gorgeous.

He opened up the Krispy Kreme cabinet and announced to everyone around him - which one is the healthy one LOL :o)

It got me thinking about exactly how many calories there were in those gorgeous, yummy doughnuts - wish I'd never looked now >>>

My favourite is the original glazed one and even that's got a whopping 217 calories in it. Thankfully, I was really good and didn't get myself one.

I'm too young ....

.... to have a 19 year old nephew LOL. At the moment, he's still 18 but his birthday is next Monday. Here's the card that I've made for him. I'm not sure about it but I think that's because it hasn't got any football or Liverpool related thing on it :o)

I tried telling him that, now he's going to be 19, he's to old for birthday presents from me. He soon told me what he thought of that idea LOL His nan (my mum) is even talking about getting him a birthday cake !!!

The stamp is (of course) a Penny Black and the papers are Pebbles.

They won!

While I was enjoying myself at Ally Pally, my nephew's football team won the WHSFL Division 3. I loaned my decent camera to my dad so that he could get some piccies.

New stash

I thought I'd better post piccies of my Ally Pally stash. I had a great day on Sunday with a lovely bunch of friends. If anyone was in the entrance hall around 1pm - we were the ones singing Happy Birthday to a very embarassed friend LOL

I bought most of this little lot when my mum turned up around 3ish. She feinted last year so now only comes along for the last hour or so. Amazingly enough though, I did come away with money!!!

I'm loving green at the mo

I never used to like green but, just lately, I seem to be making more and more cards with green.

I've just realised that both cards have Cuttlebug embossing on them LOL

I used sketches from Ismaki and My Paper World

Brilliant weekend

Football, craft shopping and catching up with friends - what a great way to spend the weekend!!!

First up on Saturday was a trip to White Hart Lane to see the mighty Spurs. It was a family trip and everyone really enjoyed it. My uncle, cousin and 2 2nd cousins (Sophie and Joe) came up from Eastbourne on the train so that Joe could see his first Premier League team. He's now a converted Spurs fan and even bought a Spurs top yesterday with his pocket money LOL I think it helped that both goals were at our end of the pitch and they met the Spurs players afterwards - Robbie Keane is a legend!!!

Next on my fab weekend was a trip down to Ally Pally for a little bit of shopping and lots and lots of laughing and chatting. It was great to meet up with the girls again. I've taken today off to recover LOL Will post piccies of my yummy new stash later on.

Mmmm Smarties

I made this card for a very good friend. The flower is made up from fab clear stamps that I got from Sugar and Spice and I've stamped them onto 2 shades of pink Bazzill card.

The yummy chocolate brad reminds me of Smarties! The sentiment and scalloped edge are also chocolate even though they look black in the piccie. The papers are gorgeous ones from Stampin Up - really need to get some more of them ;o)

The Apprentice

Not the tv programme but my youngest nephew when he was a little one (he might be 12 but he's still not that big LOL)

He used to love watching his grandad "fix" things. Very often my dad would be trying to fix something with Sam sat on his lap blocking his view.

Anyway, here's the page that I did for this weeks challenge over on UKScrappers

The is Doodlebug and the alpha is a Quickutz one.

Postpals

I made this card for a very special little girl. She's on Postpals which is a brilliant charity where children, who aren't very well, sign up to receive post (gifts, letters, cards etc). As we all know, receiving cards through the post always gives a little lift.

The children on Postpals are going through so much but they have smiles on their little faces that could melt anybodys heart.

Makes me feel very humble (((hugs)))

Easter Snow

It seemed so weird to have snow at Easter (even though we've had more today!) that I thought I'd do a scrapbook page.

Grandsons

I haven't got any but that doesn't stop me having to make the cards.

These are for my parents to give to my 2 nephews. The footballer one was for my youngest nephew Sam who turned 12 on Thursday. He loved both this card and the "book" that I gave to him.

The other one originally was for Sam but I decided that it looked to old for a 12 year old. Soooo I've changed it so that it's for Daniel who'll be 19 at the end of this month. Now need to do mine for him - help!!!!!!!!

More snow

Here's what we woke up to this morning. I know it was forecast but it is blooming April!!! This time last week it might have been chilly but we had gorgeous blue skies and fab sunshine. What a difference a week can make. Hope it's not like this next weekend as we're off to White Hart Lane on Saturday and Ally Pally on Sunday. Better start praying for warm weather now!!!

Meeting the teams

It was my eldest nephews cup final on Sunday. It was a good match but they lost 2-1 in the end. Daniel looked like he'd lost £100 and found 1p.

The only reason for posting on my blog about is because of this .....

It really made us laugh that, it might have been only the "Welwyn Hatfield Division 3 League Cup Final" but they still had a dignitary to meet before the start.
