Last post of 2007

This year has flown by. It doesn't feel like 2 days ago that 2007 started and now we're hours away from 2008.

Not going to get philosophical (can't even spell it LOL) about what I had planned for 2007 and what I haven't done. All I'll say is that it's been a good one. On the crafty side, I met up again a few times with my fab crafty friends and spent far too much money - the bad influences know who they are ;o)

I also joined a fab team over on http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/ Really didn't know what I was getting into but the Pink Glitter Girls have made it such a great experience and I look forward to earning loads more points for our fab team in 2008 and taking part in my first ever circle journal.

So I hope everyone has a great New Years Eve and I'll see you all in 2008!!!!!!

Glory glory days

I couldn't let this day pass without a special mention of the fantastic effort that the mighty mighty Spurs put in at the Lane today. Also, when I set this blog up, I did mention that I'd be having a rant or 2 about the Spuds.

When I woke up this morning, I had my usual Saturday morning wish - that Spurs would score some goals and all being well actually win. Who would have believed that I'd be sitting here now after Reading scored 4 goals at the Lane but we still managed to win the game. Yep, we won by scoring 6 goals.

Apparently, Reading's Dave Kitson is a life long Spurs fan. His family were in the stands supporting Spurs and him. His ambition was to score at the Lane. Well, he definitely did that as he scored twice. Thanks Kitson - you've obviously forgotten about how stressful it is watching Spurs!!!!!

Thankfully, super Dimitar Berbatov was on form - scoring 4 of our goals. Let's hope they remember the winning feeling against Reading as we play them again next weekend in the FA Cup.

New Arrival

Had really good news yesterday morning as my cousins partner had a baby girl late on Boxing Day night. So to welcome little Nicole Harding, I've made these 2 cards - 1 for the proud parents and 1 for the even prouder grandparents.

Chill time

Hope everyone has enjoyed their Christmas. Mine was non stop from having Christmas Day breakfast over my sisters, back to my house for dinner (bit of a panic trying to fit the huge turkey in my oven) & tea and then over to my parents for Boxing Day where we had the usual cold turkey and chips for dinner ----- yum. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Still wondering how my mum got drunk when she was only eating wine gums :o)

I got a few crafty pressies ---- Stampendous clear monkey stamps, 2 sets of Quickutz cookie cutters, Sizzix alpha strip, the new Doodlebug knife (pink) and cutting mat (black). Got a lovely parcel from my Secret Santa - loads of gorgeous pink Doodlebug goodies.

I did get some non crafty pressies ---- new gloves, mug, diary and t-shirt --- all Spurs ;o) Jason Donovan and Lewis Hamilton auto-biogs as well.

I love the time between Christmas and New Year. Was planning on getting loads done but hmmmm that might not happen. I've finally been able to have a "chill" and play day today LOL.

40th Bella

My cousin was 40 on Friday so I made this card for her birthday. I love my Bella stamps

Happy Christmas Eve

Well, I've finished all the housework and the washing is done so I've finally got time to sit on my bum, watch Ella Enchanted (soppy Disney movie LOL) and post on my blog.

I did this layout last night for Week 3 challenge over on UKScrappers. The piccies are of my new car which is a Vauxhall Corsa - made coming up with a title very easy ;o)

I used Pencil Lines #38 as inspiration.

This weeks challenge

What with making all those Christmas cards, it had been a while since I did a scrapbook page but I finally did one last week.

This weeks challenge on http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/ was the ideal oppurtunity to break the drought. The title had to be a Take That song and ~ as I love the boys ~ it was perfect.

A very proud auntie

Had good news today - Daniel, my eldest nephew, passed his driving test!!!

After failing it twice before, the advice I gave him was to not tell anyone when his next test was so that he wouldn't feel pressured ----- and it obviously worked LOL

He phoned me at work to give me the good news. Really pleased for him as neither my sister or BIL drive so he hasn't had any extra practice at home. Suppose he'll be looking for a car now - don't think I fancy his insurance premium though - 18 year old lad - it's going to be a bit high OUCH

Finally finished

It's taken a while but I can finally say that I've finished all my Christmas cards this year ..... Yippeeeee LOL Here's the ones for my mum/dad, sister/brother-in-law, niece and both nephews.

The things I do for my dad

After a daft request last year, for a Christmas card with train on for his railway club, I didn't really think that my dad could get worse but yep he has. This years he asked for a Christmas card with a golfer on it for his golfing buddy. This is what I've come up with LOL

Chickens at Christmas???

Shouldn't that be turkeys??? Not if you're my friend.

As mentioned previously, here is the Christmas chicken card. When I saw this Penny Black stamp, I just knew that I had to have it. He used to have 2 chickens (Apollo and Zeus) but he's just moved in with his girlfriend and bought another one (Athradite?).

It's a very simple card but the image is perfect for him :o)

First of many Christmas cards

I made this card for mum/dad to send to their sisters and brothers. It really sparkles thanks to Doodlebug sugar coated card, Glamour Dust, Glossy Accents

Secret Sister

I've been taking part in a secret sister swap since June where every month we send a card anonymously (sp?) to the same person. As my "sister" now knows who I am LOL, I think it's okay to show the cards I sent.

I tried to change my card making style so she wouldn't guess it was me and I think it worked LOL

This froggy one went missing in the post - blooming Royal Mail!!!

Friends birthday card

A really good friend at work has just left the company to follow his (and his girlfriends) dream of moving to Scotland. Before he left, I promised that I'd send him a birthday card - couldn't forget the date as he put in my work diary for the 1st December "someone's birthday!".

He's into chickens (oooo err missus) - watch this space for his Christmas card ;o) but is an animal person so the Penny Black frog stickers came in really handy. Did intend to use a stamp but ran out of time.

Tag time

I’ve been tagged by my very good friend Kerrie (((hugs)))

1 - If you could have $100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?
Oh no, I'm stuck on the first question! Paper or embellies??? At the moment, I'd have to go for the paper as it can make or break a card/scrapbook page. Also, after going to the US last year, I know how much paper you can get for $100 !!!

2 -If you had to choose between using only stamps or ribbons, which would you choose?
Stamps, stamps, stamps :o) Never thought I'd be this addicted but after a few words of encouragement from the same crafty friends I've never looked back. That's not to say that I'm not addicted to ribbons as well ;o)

3 - If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year…which would you do?
It would have to be layouts as I really need to get a surprise scrapbook started for my sisters 40th and I haven’t started it yet. D’day, or as I like to call it “the chance to wind up my sister big time” is in January 2009 so doing fab layouts during 2008 would be ideal !!!

4 - Would you rather own a scrap booking store or have your own scrapping room at home?
I’ve kind of got my own craft room. Although it is a bit small and is also the guest room but I’d love a craft shop. Ooooh the chance to go to the trade shows would be great.

5 - What is your CURRENT card making or scrapping style?
In both cards and scrapbook pages, it has to be pink and girly all the time for me.

Now I have to tag another 5 people. Ooooooh who do I pick. Right, I've decided to choose my UK Scrapper teamies - the Pink Glitter Girls :o)

Tracey
Gemma
Becs
Nic
Jenny

Please answer the questions on your blog and tag 5 more people to answer the same questions……….make sure you list on your blog who you are tagging

C'mon the Spurs

They're playing in the UEFA cup tonight and, after the last European performance at White Hart Lane, they need all the help they can get LOL

Think Pink

Despite an emotional week, I had some fab news on Wednesday.

A friend organised a competition for Breast Cancer Awarenewss. We all paid £1 for every card we entered and raised a brilliant £135. All the cards were then sent to Kerrie so she could send them onto the charity to raise even more money for such a worthwhile cause.

Here's piccies of the cards that I sent. I was very happy as I unexpectedly won the Christmas and Thinking of You categories.

Sad news

Another 2 weeks have passed since I blogged - sorry!!!

I haven't done much crafting as life has been a bit hectic with work and family. Seems like I've just been coming home to sleep - the things I do for work. On the family side, my uncle sadly passed away on Wednesday night. He had been very ill in hospital. Wasn't going to mention it but it felt weird not to.

Last but not least

No posts for 2 weeks and then 2 in a day :o)

I've just done this card for my Brother-in-law. His birthday's on Sunday and Beerafella was perfect for it. It's the first time I've ever made a card for my BIL. I felt a bit mean that I've done cards for every other member of the family but never him.

The fab thing is that this is the last of the family birthday/anniversary cards until the end of December. Next on the list - Christmas cards

Busy busy busy

Haven't blogged for a couple of weeks as I've been really busy at work.

Just about managed to keep up with the cards.

This one's for my mum and dads 44th wedding anniversary on Friday. Mum collects Paintbox Poppets collectible ornaments and dad buys them for her so this decoupage image was perfect :)

This one was for my cousins little boy.

More family cards

Did these over the weekend but forgot to post them on here.

Card for my uncle

After receiving this image a while ago from a very good friend, this card seemed to make itself - thankfully!

Busy few months

In my family, September, October and November are busy months for birthdays and anniversaries. I make my own cards to send and for quite a few of them, I make cards for my mum and dad to send as well. Female cards are okay but male cards are really hard especially when you have to make 2 different ones LOL.

This is a card for my mum/dad to send mums brother. I used a sketch from Di Hickmans fab blog as inspiration. Thankfully, he likes golf so this cute Penny Black stamp come in handy again !!! With the amount of golfers in my family, it has to be one of my most used stamps. Need to do my card for my uncle now. Better get the thinking cap on!

Which colour???

My family have started to ask me what I really really want for Christmas.

1 or 2 crafty things I'd love are the new Doodlebug Craft Knives and Cutting Mats. My dilemma is which colour do I go for as they're all gorgeous. It could take me till Christmas to decide unless I get some help LOL

At the moment, I'm leaning towards Bubblegum knife and Black Beetle mat but that could very well change by tomorrow. BTW aren't the colour names just brilliant.

Card for a lovely friend

The black/white paper is from Dovecraft. The white flower is a Heidi Swapp one with a pink Prima Sprite and Making Memories brad at the centre
I used a sketch challenge from a blog but I really can't remember which one. I'll try and find out and give credit where it's due for a fab sketch.

Wembley again !!!

Despite having sinusitus, I still went to Wembley yesterday. Although, my dad reckons that the only way I wouldn't have gone would have been if I couldn't get out of bed LOL.

England played Estonia in the Euro 2008 qualifier and it was great. Brilliant atmosphere and great view (of the gorgeous Robbo in the first half) - even though all the goals were scored at the other end.

I have no voice now after cheering the boys on at the match and then shouting at the telly when England beat France in the Rugby World Cup Semi-final. 14-9 was a magnificent result on their home turf. Bring on South Africa or Argentina :o)

Good Company

Ooooh 2 posts in the one day :o)

Here's my page for this weeks challenge over on http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/. Doing this layout has helped me get full points for my team - the Pink Glitter Girls !!!

The challenge was to scrap a picture using:
  • Disney film or song as the title

  • 4 items of something

  • Fancy edge scissors

  • Autumn colours

The picture is of my sisters family dog who sadly died about this time last year. Snoopy (Loopy) was a lovely dog who really was a great company.

I'm addicted ...

.... to my Bind It All LOL. Here's the 2nd mini book I've made with it and it's fab. Dad was very surprised with his "book" and the photos caused much amusement at a family meal out last night.

65 years young

My dad is 65 today (Happy Birthday dad!!!). Here's the card that I made for him. It's been a while since I've done decoupage and I really enjoyed it.

I've also made him something else which I'll be giving to him when we go out for a family meal to celebrate. So I can't show it yet as he might be a bit nosey and have a look on here ;o)

Stash piccies

Here's some piccies of the yummy goodies that I bought at Ally Pally
