HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

I'm round my parents and have just popped on the t'internet quickly and I just wanted to wish everyone a very happy, safe and prosperous 2009.

We'll be staying up to see the New Year in - well that's if I can persuade the "oldies" to stop playing cards LOL

See you all next year --- eek!

Post It note holder

Wow 3 posts in 1 day!

My UKS team had a Secret Santa. We had to make something or buy something for less than £5. Well because I can never keep to a budget, I decided to buy some stamps - which I'd knew she'd love - and make something as well.

The problem was I didn't have a clue what to make - thank gawd I organised a crafty get together at the beginning of December and the fab Kerrie bought along the instructions to make a Post It note holder. Yep she saved my life LOL and it was really easy to make :o)

Anyway, here it is

The paper is Bo Bunny (love) and the stamps are Stampin' Up (also love).

Stampin' Up crafty post

Thought I'd better do a crafty post as well as my chat one :o)

Here's a few of the cards that I've made over the past month. Mum may have not been well but she's still been asking me to make cards and I have to say that it was a relief to not make Christmas cards!

As you've probably worked out, I used Stampin Up stash on all 3 of these cards - yep I still love Stampin' Up LOL

Where has this month gone?

Firstly, I hope everyone had a very good Christmas. We did - which was unexpected as mum wasn't at all well just before Christmas. That's the main reason I haven't been blogging - she's not 100% yet but thankfully she's better than she was! Everything else seemed to take a back seat - although I did manage to get to White Hart Lane twice with my dad :o) and they didn't lose ;o)

We got absolutely soaked when we was waiting on WHL platform after the Man Utd match and surprise surprise I didn't catch a cold. Here's a piccie of me after the UEFA cup match - my Spurs santa hat came in very handy as it was blooming freezing!

We're going on Friday for the FA Cup match so I hope (1) they don't blooming lose and (2) it warms up a bit - well a girl can hope!!!

Family Christmas cards

I've finally finished my Christmas cards for this year - yippeee!!!

The last ones made are for immediate family - mum/dad, sister/BIL, 2 nephews and my niece. I really am going to do these first next year as I'm all Christmassed out by the time I get round to doing them.

Now I just need to finish buying and wrapping the presents and I'll be all ready :o)

Christmas cat

I love this stamp - especially as I got him from the discount bucket at a craft show.

I'm loving scallops at the mo. I think I have an addiction LOL This scallop was done using the Fiskars Threading water punch.

It makes a change for me not to make a square card. The idea for this card came from some red DL envelopes that I was determined to use up this Christmas. Ummm I think I may have got sidelined with this card. Oh well, have to use them up next year or for one of my nephew's birthday cards (thank gawd they support Liverpool!!!)

I made 9 of this card for my aunts and uncles. The papers are Pebbles and the stamps (image and sentiment) are Penny Black (of course!!!)

Christmas (with hands and feet)

Weird title for a post but that was the theme for a competition. Well the main theme was Christmas but we got extra "points" depending on how many hands and feet were on the card.
This one came 2nd :o)

I'd already made these 2 cards so that was handy. This is for the guys at work so I've made quite a few of them.

And I made this one for my mum to send to her close family and friends. Had to make 12 of them !!! but this little owl is soooo cute and easy to colour.

Almost everything on these cards is Doodlebug papers and Penny Black stamps but the sentiments are Stampin Up, Stamps Away and one from a clear set from Stamp Addicts

Yippeee I've won

Wow 2 posts in one day. Anybody would think that I blog LOL

I totally forgot to say in my other post that I've won. My Stampin' Up lady did a Christmas raffle draw and my number was selected. I can't believe it as I never win anything - I'm not even sure that my lottery numbers are in the Saturday machine!!!

Anyway, if you go over to Linda's blog you will see the fabulous creations that she's done - 12 days of Christmas. She is very talented and also is very good at encouraging me to buy even more yummy Stampin' Up stash - not that I need much encouragement ;o)

December already!

Is it me or is this year flying by??? Despite all my best efforts, this year has been the same as every other one - panicking about Christmas cards. Next year I WILL make special family cards first as, as per normal, I'm all Christmassed out and I've still got them to do.

I did make 2 cards last Saturday at a crafty get together with some great friends. I even made another 2 cards on the Sunday which is a miracle when I get together with a certain friend :o) Saying that we did stay up till 1.30ish on Saturday and Sunday mornings just catching up on stuff LOL

I took the Monday off work to supposedly do more crafting but ended up putting up the decorations. Well I thought I was allowed to as the car was in for its service and they cleaned it for me so that saved me that job :o)

I will take some piccies of the cards this weekend of the cards that I've made and pop them on here. Then when all the cards are done, I can get cracking on my sister's scrapbook. I've now only got 1 month left before her 40th birthday. Why oh why have I only done 6 pages in the 2 years since I decided to do it - Panic!!!!

New Baby Girl

My cousin has just become the proud daddy to be a little baby girl - Lucy.

I made these 2 cards - one from me and the 2nd one from my mum and dad.

I love this pram stamp. It's from the Fun and Fast Notes Stampin' Up set.

This one is a Magnolia stamp which I've paper pieced.

Mum, my niece and I had a fab time today buying a few ;o) bits for the newest member of our family.

My parents got married on 9th November 1963 and my brother-in-law was born on 11th November 1963. It means that, despite BIL saying that he's younger than he is, we always can remember how old he is LOL What it also means is that I have 2 family cards to make so here they are.

First up is mum and dad's anniversary card. I used all Stampin' Up goodies on it. The stamps are one of my new sets and they're gorgeous.

Next is BIL's card and he likes a pint so this Stamps Away stamp was perfect. The papers are Doodlebug.

Cute teddy

With getting my boiler replaced last week, I had to make this card quickly. It's for my mum and dad to send to my uncle. Thank gawd for these Forever Friends stickers. I only bought them because they're cute (never could resist anything cute) but I didn't realise that I'd use them LOL. I wonder if I could find one for my brother-in-laws birthday card. His birthday is next Tuesday and I'm stuck to know what to do for his card.

The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up and the papers are Papermania --- which I've had for ages!!!

Great weekend of sport

I couldn't let this weekend go by without mentioning what has happened.

First up we had the fab Spurs beating the not so mighty Liverpool at football yesterday. My nephew's are massive Liverpool fans so I had to gloat - it was my duty as an auntie!!! What made it even better was that it was on the back of gloating to my niece - who says that she's an A**5**1 fan LOL

Then today we had the superb performance from our local lad - Lewis Hamilton. Gawd can he drive brilliantly or what??? I know that Mclaren have nurtured him from when he was little but he has to have a raw talent for them to have invested so much time and money into him. Sooooo CONGRATULATIONS LEWIS --- like he's going to read my blog LOL

I'll hopefully be posting more cards and maybe even a scrapbook page or two soon as I've got the week off work - yippee dippy doo daa :o)

Snow in October

That's not supposed to happen is it??? Well I didn't think it was as I wouldn't have booked my boiler replacement for this week if I'd known that it was possible. Thought I was pretty safe getting it done before the end of October but oh well, you live and learn LOL

I didn't have any central heating or hot water on Tuesday night - when 2 inches of snow decided to land on us! Thankfully, my house wasn't too cold as I had a little portable heater that is normally in the conservatory.

Anyway, enough of my snow story. My house is in a right state so I'm not going to be able to make any cards for a while. Soooo here are some that I made for a forum competition. The theme was snowmen - which I'm addicted to LOL

Cute hedgehog

Here's the card that I've made for my aunt's birthday next week. I still can't believe that I cut into this yummy paper. I suppose it is fitting that I used it on my mums card and then one for her sister. They're both like me --- love pink LOL

Another football card

This card is for my cousin's little boy. He'll be 9 - I think! The reason behind the 5 on the shirt is because he's just started to support Spurs - the poor kid thinks we're playing so badly because he now supports them :o(

Anyway, his favourite player is David Bentley who's squad number is 5.

The stamp is from Stamps Away

Busy Bee

For the past 6 weeks, I've been really busy at work and under loads of pressure and haven't really felt like crafting. Thankfully it has eased off a bit so I can find time to craft and enjoy doing it.

My timing is perfect as I've got another busy couple of months for family birthdays and of course there's C********s to think about LOL.

I made this card for my mum and dad to send to my aunt (mum's sister). She's very much like my mum - can't sit down and is always on the go. Her birthday is also the day before Halloween :o) Anyway, this stamp was perfect for her!

The stamp is my new Penny Black that I got at Ally Pally. The papers and ribbon are Stampin Up and they're yummy :o)

First time using my fab threading water punch (why is it called that???). I've added glamour dust to the wings but it doesn't show up very well in the piccie.

You may have guessed that I'm slightly addicted to Stampin' Up ;o)

Well the lady who helps me feed my addiction through a Stamper's 10 is offering some fab blog candy. See here for the link to Linda's blog and the chance to win this great prize.

Is it really October???

The reason for asking is the weather at the mo is not at all like October --- more like July.

I spent yesterday afternoon and evening at Wembley (watching England - thought I'd take a break from watching woeful Spurs!!!) and we were sitting in the only part of the stadium that had sunshine till it set around 5.30ish. Anyway, I've now got a very red nose!

All in all, it was a great day out - although it didn't look like it was going to be very good after the first half but thankfully, the team got their act together and we won!!!

Did have a mishap though - I dropped my bag when I was looking for the tickets and my camera's now broken. It's my compact one and not my digi SLR but now I need another one. Was thinking about getting a decent mobile phone with camera but didn't think I'd have to make the decision quite so soon.

Sooooo do I go for a digi camera with face recognition and anti shake or do I go for a new mobile phone with a decent camera???? Decisions decisions.

Any recommendations for either are very welcomed :o) Front runners at the mo are Canon IXUS 80 if I get a digi camera or Nokia N95 if I get a mobile phone/camera. Aaaahhhh I don't know what to get!!!

Birthday card for my checker

The other birthday card I struggle with is my dads. He's my "checker" and can always be relied upon to give me an honest opinion on whether a card works or not. Well I can't do that with his birthday card LOL

The stamp is one of my new Stampin Up set and the things in the back of the truck are footballs :o) My dad's finally admitted that he is a Spurs fan even though he goes to all the matches with me. He's even going to buy a home shirt (Hope that they can start winning now!!!)

Trust my parents to have birthdays within 6 days of each other. Oh well, both cards are made - mum's had hers and dad's will be delivered on Monday. He's bound to tell me that the truck isn't straight --- men !!!!

Hoo Hoo there Mum :o)

Doing my mum's birthday card always causes me stress as I try to use something that she hasn't seen. I kind of couldn't do that this year as she was with me at Ally Pally when I bought this yummy paper.

She loves birds so this stamp was perfect for her card. I did have a panic as I thought I'd lost it. I turned my craft room upside down looking for it. Thankfully, I couldn't get a replacement at Ally Pally as I found it the following day LOL It was hiding on my desk - I thought I'd checked there !!!

The owl stamp is by Rachelle Anne Miller, the sentiment stamp is Stamps Away and the paper (mmmm yummy) is a double sided Heidi Grace paper.

Get Well Soon Uncle Tony

One of my uncles is not very well in hospital at the mo. Mum asked me to make him a Get Well card. I did this one first but then thought it was a bit too modern for mum to send, so made another. Hopefully he likes both of them :o)

I used a sketch from MojoMonday as inspiration. The papers are Pebbles Inc and the stamp is the cute frog from the Stampin Up Unfrogettable set.

For this one, I used a sketch from 2Sketches4U. The image is a quick, convenient and very cute Forever Friends sticker.

Busy busy busy

After working through most of this weeks lunch breaks, I'm putting my foot down (ouch that hurt!) and having some "me" time today. So the plan is to do a quick update on here and then settle down for an uninterrupted half hour with the new fab Stampin Up catalogue :o)

Right here goes. I realised last night that I hadn't shown a piccie of the card that I made for my mum and dad to give to my niece. The request "from the birthday girl" was that I had to base it on the card that I received from Kerrie. She loved it :o)
The cupcake stamp is Imaginisce and the papers are a combination of Pebbles and a bit of Doodlebug.
The look of the card isn't the only thing that Kerrie had influence over - the other is the yummy bling. I happened to mention to her that I was probably going to get a Bejeweller - before I knew it, she'd sent me the link for one that was not only cheaper than anywhere else but was also PINK !!!!! Thank you Kerrie (((hugs)))

First Acetate Book

It doesn't seem possible that it's been a year since I made my first mini book using my Bind It All. Amy (my niece) still raves about that book :o)

Well the request this year was for something "different" but I had to use the piccie that I took on our holiday in Greece. So here it is ---- my first ever Acetate book.

I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. I bought the acetate from Hobbycraft before I even knew that I was going to make her a book. Hmmm I wonder what I bought it for ??? LOL

Anyway, the papers, ribbons and cupcake stamp are Stampin' Up. I've used bits of Doodlebug as well.

Her birthday's tomorrow so fingers crossed, she will like it :o)

A Mags card

Anyone who knows Mags will know that she's a very special lady :o) Sooooo I wanted to make her a special card for her birthday.

After gaining inside information ;o) that she'd liked the "card" that I'd made for Sam and was loving turquoise and brown at the mo - this card kind of created itself.

It was nice to do a girlie version of Sam's book. On that one, I had to add football references but on Mags' I could use flowers and glitter - yippeee! LOL

The stamps are Imaginisce and Stampin' Up.
